My name is Jess Stelton, and I'm from White Bear Lake, Minnesota. I'm about to finish Instrument training, and I’m so excited to start Commercial in the spring!
I got into aviation from the trips my mom and I would take to California to visit family. The plane ride was always my favorite part. The feeling of taking off and landing always put a huge smile on my face, even now. Growing up, I was raised by a single parent. My mom has done so much for me and I want to be able to give back to her and make her proud. I can’t imagine doing anything else with my life.
My favorite part about flight training at Minnesota State University, Mankato is all of the wonderful people I’ve gotten to meet. From the North Star instructors to the faculty to the friends I’ve made, everyone has helped me so much or impacted me in some way. It makes me even more excited to be here, and I wouldn’t be the pilot or person I am today without them.
After graduation, I want to be a corporate pilot for a major company or fly for a private jet charter company like NetJets.
