Student Feature - Logun Lee

Updated: Jun 9, 2023

Hi, my name is Logun, and I'm from South Korea.

I'm currently working on my instrument rating. I'm getting closer to finishing it up and plan to start my commercial training this summer!

Thanks to my parents, I had many chances to travel abroad and got on board an airplane a lot. I will never forget the time when I first took a flight. Through the window, I saw beautiful scenery, and many people were excited to make new memories. I always dreamed of being a pilot who helps people make precious memories through flight. To achieve this dream, I started my flight training at a university in Utah with a Cirrus SR20 and transferred to Minnesota State University, Mankato to continue my training.

In Mankato, I enjoy getting flight training with very professional instructors and also having the chance to study with our senior mentors. Flying and studying with Minnesota State Mankato allows me to gain abundant flight knowledge and at the same time identify and supplement what I lack. No matter how much I study and train, unexpected situations that we have never experienced can happen, so I think these experiences make me closer to becoming a safer and more professional pilot.

My final goal is to be a commercial pilot in one of the major airlines. Becoming an instructor at North Star Aviation will be my first goal after graduation. I'm looking forward to teaching many aviation students and helping them become professional pilots together, and also want to try Gold Seal Instructor. Then, I want to enter the region, then move on to major airlines like Korean Air or ANA!
