My name is Rufaro Chingozho. I’m originally from from Harare, Zimbabwe. Currently, I am finishing up my commercial multi engine training.
From the first flight I ever took when I was just a child, I was hooked onto everything Aviation! I used to go watch the airshows as a kid and my parents tell me the embarrassing stories of how I'd force them to talk to pilots on my behalf because I was too embarrassed myself. I guess it was just something intrinsic that I knew I ALWAYS wanted to do. So, I applied to a bunch of different universities, got accepted, started my journey in aviation and the rest is history.
One thing I like the most about the training at Minnesota State University, Mankato is that they work with you to make sure you get your rating done and in a timely manner. If any issues were to arise, they take that into account and try to help as much as possible. I also like that as a student, you are not bound to one instructor per se. If your instructor is unavailable, that doesn't stall your progress [as you can fly with another instructor]. This helps tremendously in speeding up your progress.
My goals after graduation are to continue finishing my ratings, up to when I get my flight instructor certificate when I'll teach other people how to fly once I reach my R-ATP mins, move on to fly for a regional and later upgrade to a major airline. Which airline will be determined in the future.
